For twenty-five years I was a primary school teacher. Every school holiday, my husband Peter and I drove to Kings Beach — and every time that ocean air hit, something in me exhaled.

Eight years ago, a small boutique became available here on the Sunshine Coast. My husband Peter looked at me across the kitchen table and didn't say a word. He didn't have to.

I'd spent twenty-five years helping children discover confidence. Now I wanted to help women rediscover theirs. We moved, and that same year I opened the door of Margaret's Kings Beach for the very first time.

Now I'm sixty-seven, and it's time to retire. Not because something went wrong. Because something went beautifully right — and I'm wise enough to know when a story has reached its ending.

This is my retirement sale. Every piece I ever chose for this boutique was chosen with one woman in mind — the real one, not the one on the hanger. That hasn't changed.
